Slug-A-Bug is back at it again, gearing up for the annual Turtle Krawl! We’re proud to be a regular sponsor of this wonderful event, and we’re going all out this year.
Expect to see us front and center at a table with our beloved mascot, Katie the dog, hanging out under a tent decked out with Slug-A-Bug flags. If you’re racing in the 5K, make sure to swing by after you cross the finish line – we’ll have some awesome goodies waiting for you!
Hosted by the Sea Turtle Preservation Society (STPS), the Turtle Krawl is happening on Sept. 14, 2024, at Indialantic’s James H. Nance Park. It’s an early bird event, with participants rolling in between 5 and 6 a.m. The fun lasts until about 10 a.m.
For more than 35 years, the society has been dedicated to protecting sea turtles and their habitats in Brevard County. This 5K race is a major fundraiser for them, supporting their amazing work in education and conservation.
Each dollar raised helps the STPS with everything from rescuing injured sea turtles and conducting nesting surveys to running cool educational programs. Plus, funds from the race go toward purchasing satellite transmitters for UCF’s marine turtle research program, so we can keep learning more about these gentle creatures and how to protect them.
It’ll be a good time. Hope to see you there!
