Slug-A-Bug is proud to announce the well-earned promotion of John Gagnon to the role of Wildlife Department Manager. With over 26 years of experience in the pest control industry and a reputation for innovation, leadership, and dedication, John’s journey to this position is as inspiring as it is impressive.

John’s path into the industry was anything but typical. In 1998, after being cold-called by a pest control company, he challenged their telemarketing approach and was invited to prove he could do better. He drove to Cocoa, met with the sales manager, and that bold move launched a decades-long career.

John originally joined Slug-A-Bug in 2004, where he quickly became a driving force in the company. After a brief time away, he returned in 2013, bringing even more knowledge and passion back with him. Over the years, he has worn many hats—sales manager, marketing manager, termite manager—leading with heart, skill, and an unshakable work ethic.

One of John’s most notable contributions was helping develop Slug-A-Bug’s wildlife program from the ground up. His extensive training and hands-on experience in wildlife control have made him a respected expert in the field. Now, as Wildlife Department Manager, he brings a clear vision and renewed energy to continue growing and refining the program.

A certified pest control operator and proud recipient of numerous industry awards, John also brings a deep sense of duty and service to his work, rooted in his time as a United States Air Force veteran. Outside of the office, John is a dedicated husband and father of two boys, and he takes great pride in being able to support his family through a career he never expected to love.

“I never imagined falling in love with bugs, rats, and wildlife,” John laughs. “But here I am—doing what I love, with people I respect, and making a difference every day.”

Slug-A-Bug is thrilled to have John Gagnon leading the Wildlife Department, and we look forward to the continued growth and excellence he will bring in this new role. Congratulations, John!
