Frequently Asked Questions
General
Easy! Just call our office or fill out our online request form, and one of our team members will connect with you. We’ll ask a few quick questions, and in many cases, we can provide a quote right over the phone. For more detailed issues, we’ll schedule a convenient on-site inspection at no cost to you.
Yes. Every Slug-A-Bug employee undergoes a thorough background check and drug screening before joining our team. We know how important trust is when someone comes to your home, and we take that responsibility seriously. Many of our team members have been with us for years because we hire carefully and value integrity.
Our office operates Monday through Friday. However, since our technicians manage their own schedules, a number of them do work on Saturdays from time to time. While we can’t guarantee weekend availability every week, we’ll always do our best to find an option that fits your needs.
Pest
Yes, we treat for fleas both indoors and outdoors. Fleas can be persistent, so our approach typically includes treating the affected areas, advising on pet care, and scheduling follow-up if needed. With the right plan, we can eliminate fleas and keep them from coming back.
Yes. The products we use are applied in accordance with strict safety guidelines and are designed to be safe for your family and pets when used as directed. We’ll always provide instructions, such as waiting until treated areas are dry before re-entering. If you have unique pets (like chickens or tortoises), let us know—we’ll review your situation and ensure you’re comfortable with the application.
We don’t provide treatments that directly target frogs, lizards, or snakes. However, these animals are usually present because of an insect food source. By controlling the bugs around your home, we make your property less attractive to them. If these critters are a concern, let us know—we’ll design a plan that reduces the conditions that bring them close.
Termite
Yes! Slug-A-Bug is licensed to perform WDO (Wood Destroying Organism) inspections, and that includes TWDO inspections required for VA loans and refinancing. Our certified inspectors provide the proper documentation lenders need, and we make the process quick and easy for homeowners and realtors.
Lawn
We don’t provide direct mole trapping, but many times moles are in the yard because they’re feeding on insects like grubs. We do treat for those underlying issues, which often reduces mole activity. If you’re dealing with moles, give us a call—we’ll inspect your lawn, target what’s attracting them, and guide you toward the best solution for keeping your yard healthy.
We do not trap or remove armadillos directly, but they’re usually digging because of grubs and other insects in the soil. Since Slug-A-Bug does treat for grubs, that’s often the first step toward reducing armadillo activity. We can also advise you on exclusion options to help protect your yard.
We don’t target grasshoppers directly, but we do provide lawn treatments that strengthen your turf and reduce many insect pressures. This often helps minimize the damage grasshoppers can cause. If you’re seeing unusual lawn damage, we can inspect and recommend the best treatment plan for your property.
Yes! Grubs are one of the most common lawn pests in Florida, and they can cause serious turf damage if left untreated. We offer targeted lawn applications that reduce grub populations and help your lawn recover. If you’ve noticed brown patches or animals digging in your yard, it may be grubs—call us, and we’ll take a look.
Wildlife
In Florida, bat maternity season runs from April 15 through August 15. During this time, state law prohibits removing or excluding bats, since young bats are unable to survive on their own. Outside of this window, exclusions can be legally performed. If you’re hearing or seeing bats, call us—we can inspect your home, confirm activity, and schedule humane, legal exclusion at the right time of year.
